Medicine may work better at the right hour

Many of the genes and proteins that common drugs act on are busy at some hours and quiet at others.

That raises a simple idea. The same dose might work better, or cause fewer side effects, if it is taken at the right time of day.

For some medicines, doctors already think about timing. For many others, we still need careful studies. Please don’t change when you take a medication without talking to your doctor.
